ABOUT COCAINE CITY
Cocaine City was the Harlem street DVD magazine of the mid-2000s, run by Cocaine City Records. Each volume mixed artist interviews, freestyles, video shoots and neighbourhood footage, sold hand to hand and in the mixtape spots before YouTube existed.
French Montana was its face: he hosted, interviewed and built his name across the series before his record deal. Max B, Saigon, Remy Ma, 50 Cent and the Dipset crowd all passed through the camera.
This page collects the Cocaine City footage that is on YouTube. The physical discs are held in the Hood Box Office DVD archive, an independent preservation project of the Wendy Black Foundation. Nothing here is for sale.
