This policy explains what information Hood Box Office collects on hoodboxoffice.com and in the BandoFlix app, how we use it and the choices you have. Both are run by Hood Box Office LLC (“we”, “us”).
WHAT WE COLLECT
Account details: your name, email address and login. Passwords are handled by our platform, Wix, and we never see them.
Subscription and purchase details: the plan, pass, rental or purchase you buy, billing dates and payment status. Card payments are handled by the payment provider shown at checkout, and in-app purchases by Apple or Google. We never receive or store your full card number.
Email sign-ups: the email address you give us when you join our list.
Messages and film submissions: anything you send us through a form, including film details and screener links.
Comments: anything you post publicly, along with the name you post under.
Usage information: the pages and videos you view, your device and browser type, your approximate location based on your IP address, and similar data collected through cookies and similar tools. In the app, this includes your device type and, if you allow it, a token to send you notifications.
HOW WE USE IT
To give you access to what you paid for, bill you for it and handle cancellations.
To answer your messages and review film submissions.
To send the emails and notifications you asked for. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can turn notifications off in your phone’s settings.
To see what people watch and read so we can improve the service.
To measure our advertising.
To keep the service secure, prevent fraud and meet our legal obligations.
WHO WE SHARE IT WITH
We don’t sell your personal information. We share it only with the companies that help us run the service, and only as much as they need:
Wix.com, which hosts the site, the app, member accounts and forms.
Payment processors, and Apple or Google for in-app purchases, which take payments and handle recurring billing.
Email, analytics and advertising partners (such as Meta) that deliver our emails, measure how the service is used and measure our ads.
Authorities, when the law requires it, or a buyer of our business if the business is ever sold.
COOKIES
The site uses cookies to make it work, remember your settings, count visits and measure ads. You can accept or refuse non-essential cookies in the cookie banner and clear cookies in your browser at any time.
YOUR CHOICES AND RIGHTS
You can ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, correct it or delete it, and you can unsubscribe from emails at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have more rights: California residents can ask to know, correct and delete their information and won’t be treated differently for doing so, and people in the EU and UK have rights under the GDPR, including the right to object and to complain to their data protection authority. To make a request, email info@hoodboxoffice.com. We reply within 30 days.
HOW LONG WE KEEP IT
We keep account details while your account is open, and messages and submissions for as long as we need them. After that we delete or anonymize them, except for records the law requires us to keep, such as payment records for tax purposes.
SECURITY
We rely on the security built into our platform and payment providers, including encrypted connections. No system is perfectly secure, so please don’t send us anything you would not want exposed.
ADULTS ONLY
Hood Box Office is for adults 18 and over. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
WHERE YOUR INFORMATION IS HANDLED
Our platform stores data in the United States and other countries where its providers operate, and part of our team works outside the United States. By using the service, you understand that your information may be handled in those countries.
CHANGES
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top, and we’ll email members about any significant change.
