Cross Country Pimping is where it all started. Filmmaker Michael Maroy took his camera across the country into a world network television never touched — the players, the rules, the money and the life — and let it play out on camera, unscripted.

The film became a cult classic on DVD and spawned four sequels. It is the reason Maroy became known as the documentarian of the American pimp game, a run that later put him on ABC’s 20/20 with Diane Sawyer.
