Set in 1980s New York City, the story follows a Ukrainian Jewish family who move from Odesa in the Soviet Union to start a new life in America. They run a bathhouse in a neighborhood called Little Ukraine while trying to build an honest future. But as they struggle to adjust, the father’s hopes for his son begin to clash with family pressures and dangerous connections from their past. Soon, their efforts to stay on the right path are threatened by ties to crime that refuse to let go.
